This course will provide participants with the necessary resources and hands-on practice to efficiently troubleshoot previously operational PLCs such as Allen Bradley Controllers, Siemens Controllers, Omron Controllers & Telemecanique Controllers. It builds upon students’ fundamental knowledge of common controller terms and operation, ability to identify and create fundamental automation project components, and experience interpreting basic ladder logic. This course adds to students’ skill sets by introducing new tasks, such as connecting to a network, interpreting project execution, and editing ladder logic online. After practicing such skills, students will be presented with a systematic strategy for diagnosing and troubleshooting a variety of system errors, such as controller, I/O, hardware problems, noise-related problems and software configuration problems.
